The Queen is to be seen "like never before" in charming scenes captured from her own private home videos, showing her happy life as a young woman.
Snapshots of the then-Princess Elizabeth, broadcast for the first time during a BBC One trailer tonight/ last night (thurs), show her pulling an exaggerated grin for the video camera, joined by her beloved younger sister Princess Margaret, and gesturing with a flourish to a sea of flowers around her.
On the Royal Yacht Britannia, the young Princess is seen mastering the art of skipping while hopping on one leg in a carefree moment.
All the footage has been taken from the Royal Family’s own collection of home movies, filmed themselves and kept private until now.
In honour of the Platinum Jubilee, the Queen has given permission for some of them to be aired in a BBC documentary called Elizabeth: The Unseen Queen.
