Talking Watches With Aziz Ansari
It's hard to pinpoint just what it is about Aziz Ansari that makes him so funny, so charming, so relatable. The South Carolina-born comedian cut his teeth as a stand-up during his years as an undergraduate at NYU, when he was a regular at the Upright Citizens Brigade – and, just out of school, he had already sold a show or two to the likes of MTV. Aziz went on to become the first cast member of Parks and Recreation, which turned him and his character Tom Haverford into household names.
From there, he would continue his prolific stand-up career, write a truly superb look at dating in the modern age called Modern Romance, sell out Madison Square Garden a few times, and ultimately land his own Netflix series, Master Of None, for which he already holds one Emmy for writing, and, as of this past weekend, a Golden Globe for acting. The show, like Aziz himself, is funny and charming, but also often painful and beautiful in the way it presents the internal struggles we all experience as we leave our twenties and enter our thirties – and Master of None and Aziz occupy a special place to many of our generation because of it. And today I am thrilled to present you the official HODINKEE Talking Watches with Aziz Ansari.
