With London girl Phoebe Philo in charge, Chloé may be 45 years old, but she looks like she's 27.

Philo imbues the outfits with her own jumbled vintage-meets-sexy-streetwear style, which is great as long as she polishes them up to Paris standards.

Never one to wax eloquent about the pleasures of dressing up, the designer said only this about the collection: "I'm not sure what to say. It contained a little bit of everything I enjoy doing."

Soft frocks in a poppy design with a tie-back waistband, as well as a flippy two-tiered skirt, were the staples on which Chloé earned its reputation in the 1960s and 1970s.

The typical girl-about-town navy coat was dressed with a hoodie beneath, and skintight trousers with poppies appliquéd to the derriere and other key areas made a reappearance (unseen here since Stella McCartney moved on).

A wave of applause greeted a military shirt that was neatly tucked into well-cut matching slacks.
