There was a pretty popular show that aired and was produced by MTV from 2004 until 2007. It only ran for three years, amassing 73 episodes, but the show definitely left its imprint on popular culture and the world of automotive aficionados alike. The show was hosted by rapper, Xzibit, and featured some pretty astounding customized and modified vehicles of every kind—from mechanics to the paint job, the work was really impressive. The two companies that did the exceptional customizing work for the show were Galpin Auto Sports towards the end of the show’s run and West Coast Customs, earlier on.

But like anything else, great work like that lives on and definitely inspires others to follow suit, and believe you me, many have followed suit. Customizing vehicles, whether they were professional endeavours or not. Some of that work can be seen at your local auto show, and a lot of it is featured online. Trust us when we tell you: not all of it is stellar work. Some of it is just plain terrible and some of it is cool, but maybe just a little over the top.
