When science and art mix! This is the simplest way to introduce somebody to chromatography. Collect all the materials, show how it is done to your children once and let them experiment with their own designs.
What you need:
- Paper kitchen towel/tissue/coffee filter
- Any non-permanent markers
- A clear glass
- Water
What's going on:
When you dip the paper strip, it starts sucking water up. Water is dissolving dried colour pigments from markers and beautifully mixing them.
