The following stages are generally included in testing procedures:

Unit testing: verifies specific pieces of code, like functions, to ensure that they function as intended.
Integration testing:makes certain that several pieces of code can coexist without causing unexpected consequences
End-to-end testing: Confirms that the application fulfils the user's expectations
Exploratory testing: uses an unstructured method to analyse various aspects of an application from the user's perspective in order to find any functional or visual faults


The several testing methods are frequently represented as a pyramid. The number of tests of each category reduces and the price of designing and running tests rises as you climb up the pyramid.
