#chinaev #byd #EV

In 2021, the Tesla Model 3 was the electric vehicle that sold the most units in Australia and several other countries across the world.

And in the past five years, there haven't been many electric vehicles that have come close to matching the success of the Tesla Model 3.

But we can't say for sure what will happen during the next few months in China, Australia, and Japan.

It’s because a Chinese company is currently introducing its own ground-up inexpensive electric automobile. And remember that it's nothing like those in the market! Now, who is this manufacturer, and how do they plan to compete with Tesla's Model 3?

The Chinese manufacturer that has overtaken Tesla Motors as the leading seller of electric cars in the world this month is not a firm that is widely recognized.

BYD is an abbreviation for "build your dreams," It is the name of the corporation that was established in 1995 by the businessman Wang Chuanfu.

Despite selling over 641,000 pure electric and hybrid vehicles in the first half of 2022, it does not have much brand recognition outside of China.

Now, this number is an increase of almost 80,000 purchases over its Texas-based competitor, Tesla.

Additionally, this quickly expanding Chinese electric vehicle business is preparing to debut a new electric sedan to compete with the Tesla Model 3.

And now, orders in Australia are scheduled to begin in the latter part of 2022!

Now, August has been good for BYD since its shipments are scheduled to start sometime this month.

And according to media sources there, there have reportedly been between 60,000 and 110,000 pre-orders for automobiles.

The good news is that if you live in Australia, you should be able to get your hands on one by the year 2023.

This is made possible because BYD's local importer, EVDirect.com.au, intends to undertake a significant expansion.

You can also place an order online, in addition to doing so in-person, at one of the nationwide dealers that BYD has.

Now, these dealers are supported by Eagers Automotive, which is an organization that is listed
on the ASX. It is anticipated that the BYD Seal will be one of two additional BYDs available in this region this year.

And the other is most likely going to be a compact hatchback inspired by the BYD Dolphin sold in China.

With the release of the Atto 3 compact SUV this month, the company entered the Australian market for the first time.

The business indicated that it planned to begin accepting local orders for the BYD Seal later in 2022 in Australia.

However, it could not provide an estimate for when the product would be delivered. And after a few setbacks, the BYD Atto 3 will finally be released in August, around six months after its prices were announced.

It's currently unclear if the "Atto 4" name will be used for this vehicle Down Under. The corporation has also stated that it will operate under a different name in certain international locations.

EVDirect.com.au asserts that it has already received 3,500 pre-orders for the Atto 3.

Which, if carried out, would put the company in second place behind Tesla among the leading sales of electric vehicles in Australia.

At the lower end of the market, where the Atto 3 will compete, there will soon be an improved version of the MG ZS EV. And in terms of its dimensions and silhouette, the BYD Seal most closely resembles the Tesla Model 3.

In China, it is being hailed as BYD's flagship vehicle. It is important to remember that BYD, financed by Warren Buffet, is one of Tesla's most formidable opponents among the non-'legacy' auto OEMs.

BYD also announced that it plans to release three electric vehicles (EVs) in the Japanese market in 2023.

You see, for a Chinese company, Atto 3 Seal and Dolphin are oddly specific names.

Other target vehicles that are theoretically comparable include the Polestar 2, as well as the recently introduced Hyundai Ioniq 6.

The BYD Seal is 4800 millimeters long, which is approximately 100 millimeters longer than the Model 3.
