We had a very big job ahead of us. I was approached by a customer who asked me to remove two large hedges around the house about 20 meters long, fill them with earth and sow new grass. Having inspected the hedges, I decided that we would need a mini excavator for the job. At first we trimmed and removed the hedge in front of the house and my helper dug up some bushes and made a passageway for the backhoe, but then I realized that this was a bad idea as the backhoe destroys the lawn in the yard, so we decided to do everything in front of the house and just cut the other hedge with a chainsaw under the root and cover it with earth to match the lawn, which the customer agreed to. The main problem was that the excavator did not have a "nozzle" to remove the roots which made the job difficult, however the whole job took about 5 days of 5 hours each and was completed.
About 7 full trailers were removed during this time.
After all the customer informed me that I had not removed the tree roots from the other hedge and I should fix it, but when the grass came up he decided to leave it as it was but without paying for the work!
