New Renault CAPTUR 2020 Review Interior Exterior.

After its arrival in dealerships in November 2019, the New Captur is proud to announce its results in the Euro NCAP safety tests. New Captur passes the exam with 5 stars, the maximum rating, in the latest generation and thus most stringent tests. New Captur has proven all its qualities in terms of safety for its occupants (adults and children), with regard to pedestrians, as well as its complete and efficient range of driving aids.

Based on the new modular platform of the CMF-B Alliance, the New Captur joins the New Clio (also 5 stars) on the list of the safest vehicles. It benefits from an optimized body structure, revised seat structures and seat belt fasteners designed to provide optimal support for all occupants with pyrotechnic pre-tensions and force limiters. Renault is an ambassador for Fix4sure technology for excellence in occupant restraint to avoid submarining. In addition, the excellent design of the New Captur makes it easy to install a child seat on the lateral rear seats, on isofix and with the I-size system, and also to protect the head in the rear seats during side impact.

New Captur also benefits from a rich range of equipment: 6 airbags, ABS with emergency braking assistance, camera and radars (allowing the lane maintenance assistant, overspeed warning with recognition of road signs, safety distance warning, emergency braking), speed regulator/limiter, warning of non-use of seat belts on the five seats, emergency call in case of accident. In addition, vision is optimized with a 360° camera, standard 100% LED front headlamps, automatic headlamp activation and an electro chromatic interior rearview mirror.

Captur's new electronic architecture has also made it possible to provide active emergency braking with recognition of pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles and to offer the Traffic and Motorway Assistant, the first step towards autonomous driving.

These ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) available on the New Captur are divided into three families: Driving, Parking and Safety. They constitute the Renault EASY DRIVE label. Their settings are clearly and intelligibly accessible via the touch screen of the Renault EASY LINK multimedia system.

A versatile and modular SUV, New Captur offers the best in safety throughout its range, reaffirming Renault's expertise in safety for all its occupants and road users. With its renewed design, highly technology features and all its innovations, New Renault Captur opens a new era in the Renault Group's product strategy and offers the best in safety for the market-leading urban SUV.

As the front runner on the urban SUV market, the Captur has always been able to play the versatility card, including in its on-road behaviour. An asset that is only reinforced in the All-new Captur, a model that maintains a reassuring posture on every type of road whilst improving every tangible aspect: steering, suspension, chassis, etc. This has been achieved by using all of the innovations that the Alliance has brought to the new modular CMF-B platform, plus a specific development. The All-new Captur can boast a high degree of comfort for all occupants, yet at the same time it has raised the bar for dynamic driving.

The All-new Captur uses the modular CMF-B platform first seen on the All-new Clio, so it provides a similar level of driving pleasure, whilst specific tuning gives each model its very own personality. Versatility remains the watchword, so the All-new Captur is as at home in town, where the need is for smoothness, as it is on every type of road, where the driver demands a touch of dynamism.

So the engineering teams that developed the chassis looked at every parameter to ensure that the All-new Captur has an overall balance that never dulls the feelings of responsiveness and security, especially when it is fitted with the TCe 155 EDC FAP engine. Its reassuring road-holding is maintained by rear axle guidance that offers greater stability when taking bends at a steady speed. Lateral movement is restricted even on the harshest roads, and comfort has been improved with a special development of the shock absorbers. The efficiency of the chassis is supplemented by the more precise, more direct steering. The vehicle’s agility is further increased by 10% reductions in the steering ratio around the zero point and in the turning circle, which is now down to 11 metres kerb to kerb.

Electric-powered: The All-new Captur will be the first Renault model to benefit from a plug-in hybrid engine named E-TECH Plug-in.

Connected: The All-new Captur perfectly illustrates this dynamic with its new connected multimedia system EASY LINK and the Renault EASY CONNECT ecosystem.

Autonomous: The All-new Captur will be one of the pioneers. With the All-new Clio, aids leading to autonomous driving will be fitted as standard to models in B-segment.
