A panel of experts argued the case for creating equitable spaces in this live talk produced by Dezeen for engineering firm Buro Happold.

The talk, which was moderated by Dezeen's editor Tom Ravenscroft, explored the importance of social value in the built environment.

Ravenscroft was joined by Buro Happold's Heidi Creighton, Bartlett professor Priti Parikh, and Anna Maruzela Kim of The Centre For Conscious Design.

The speakers discussed the importance of policy and context, with a specific focus on the different challenges to designing in the UK, USA and Asia.
