If you've been following Project Winston, this is a big step. Our friend @Douglas Sonders finally cuts into his 1990 Porsche Carrera 4. Actually, his buddy and expert craftsman Tim Harney does the cutting, but you get the idea.

So why cut the sheetmetal on an unmodified classic Porsche? Does Douglas hate resale value? Is he rolling the purists? Why you rune classick? The answers are, this was an old warehouse-find car with lots of miles, you only live once, and it's his car and he can do what he wants. And what Douglas wants to do is turn this Porsche into a crazy Safari-style off-road beast. And for that, you need wide fenders.

The other thing we learn in this episode is, like with any car project, things don't always go according to plan. So that NOS turbo front bumper will need to get cut (more sacrilege), the big front turbo brakes that were planned won't fit, and the aftermarket fiberglass rear bumper is no good at all.

Next up, Winston gets painted!
