Line 18/22 of the Guangzhou Metro Line is the north-south transport connection of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area – China’s first full-length underground subway line, with speeds of up to 160km/h.
Construction has been underway since 2017, with a team effort from multiple participating units realising all elements of the project. Guangzhou Metro Line 18 successfully completed its speed test during the commissioning phase, reaching a top speed of 176km/h – China’s fastest ever metro test run.

Guangzhou South Railway Station is about 10.5 miles (17 km) from the downtown area, 14 miles (23 km) from Guangzhou Railway Station, and 34 miles (55 km) from Baiyun International Airport. The station has been in use since 2010 and was designed to be one of the main transportation hubs in the Pearl River Delta.
