Ingredients for Sabut Masoor Daal:
Whole Brown lentil (soaked) 1/2 kg
Onion (chopped) 1/2 cup
Red chili powder 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tbsp / to taste
Garlic cloves 3
Garam masala 1 tsp
Water as required
Milk 1 cup

Ingredients for Tadka:
Garlic cloves 2-4
Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
Oil 1/4 cup
Green chilies 4-5
Bay leaf 1

Ingredients for Aloo Tikki:
Potatoes (boiled) 1/2 kg
Zeera 1 tbsp
Green chilies (chopped) 1 tbsp
Green coriander 1/4 cup
Salt 1 tsp / to taste
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Red chili powder 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
Oil 2 tbsp

Ingredients for Rice Preparation:
Oil 2 tbsp
Water 4 cups
Guard Basmati Rice 2 cups
Onion (sliced) 1/2 cup
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp

Directions for Daal Masoor Preparation:
1. In a pot add water, daal masoor, onion, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, garlic cloves and cook for 3-4 minutes.
2. Cover with lid and cook until fully done. Stir at regular intervals to avoid sticking.
3. Now add milk and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add garam masala powder and cook until thick in consistency.
4. For Tadka, in a pan heat oil and add garlic and fry until golden brown in color. Now add cumin seeds, green chilies, bay leaf and saute for 2-3 minutes.
5. Pour the prepared tadka over daal and your Masoor Dal is ready.
Directions for Aloo Tikki Preparation:
6. In a bowl add boiled potatoes and mash them. Now add cumin, green chilies, coriander, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder and mix well.
7. Now take the prepared mixture in the palm of your hand and make a tikki shape.
8. Heat oil in a pan and place the prepared tikki on it. Cook each side until golden in color.
9. Your Aloo Tikki is ready. Set aside.
Directions for Rice Preparation:
10. In a bowl add water and Guard Basmati Rice. Soak as per instructions on the pack.
11. In a pot heat oil and add onion, ginger garlic paste. Saute until onion gets light golden in color.
12. Now add water, salt and bring the water to boil.
13. Now add soaked brown rice and cook until 80% water dries out.
14. Cover with lid and steam on low flame for 10 minutes.
15. Your Brown rice is ready. serve it with Masoor Dall and Aloo Tikki.

Cooking time: 40 mins
Serving: 3-4
