Marvel announced during its San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) panel that Ironheart will release in Fall 2023. As Marvel continues to build out the MCU with the help of the House of Mouse's dedicated streaming platform, Disney+, newer or lesser-known characters are getting their chance at a live-action treatment. Among the many shows in development at the service is Ironheart, which sees Dominique Thorne play Riri Williams, the lead character and a 15-year-old engineering student who invents a new suit of armor similar to Iron Man's exoskeleton using materials stolen from her MIT campus.

At the moment, plot details on Ironheart are mired in secrecy, but fans will learn a bit more about the show's story when Thorne's superhero makes her MCU debut in November with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In the movie, Riri will forge a new friendship with Letitia Wright's Shuri and potentially get involved in Wakandan Outreach Program. These two key events will likely lead to the upcoming Disney+ series. Filming on Ironheart has been underway in Atlanta since June, and now there is some idea of a potential release window for the show.
