In this week's Living In episode, we tour a creatively assembled 4-room HDB BTO flat in Compassvale that is self-designed by homeowners Kai Yi and Tobby. At a size of 990 square feet, it feels really spacious because of how minimalist and open concept everything is. The living and dining areas are simply furnished with recycled materials such as wine crates for a display cabinet - and it is seen throughout the home because of the couple's belief in upcycling.

There are many cool touches in the house, one of which is the super creative buttons which have stickers to show what their functions are. The brilliant addition of a real fire alarm as a door bell is ingenious (and loud), and we really like the wooden plank at the service yard as it doubles up as a cosy balcony. They've also knocked down the walls of the common bedroom to create a office space on on side, and a rest and relax area on the other - complete with a hammock!

Special thanks to Tobby and Kai Yi for such a fun tour of their home. If you'd like to follow more of their home updates and travel visit @fifthstorey for more!
