This week, we tour a 3-room HDB at Clementi that is very creatively self designed by homeowners Jacquelyn and Jayden. They decided to go down the self-designed route by working with just a contractor, and that hands on approach meant that they were able to control the cost better as well as to truly ensure that it was a practical one for their needs.

They were smart with their purchases, opting for loose furniture instead of in-built carpentry (which can add up), and more expensive tiles in areas that matter, and cheaper ones in areas that were less important.

We really like their kitchen too, it's a very cosy set up with the pastel colours (and that pink wall adding a cool contrast). But what's great too is the addition of the pull out drawer (that doubles up as a table), which is really handy for more countertop space when needed.
