Reviewing the Google Pixel 6a camera after one week of testing, with plenty of tasty photo and video samples showing off this smartphone's optics. While the hardware is older 5a tech, the Pixel 6a still beats almost any mid-range phone out there for its camera performance. Google's Tensor chipset offers the same image processing smarts as the 6 and 6 Pro, and in a straight comparison there's not much difference in image quality.

If you don't believe me, check out my Google Pixel 6a vs 6 vs Pro side-by-side ;)

As well as the 12.2MP main sensor, you get an ultra-wide 12MP lens that offers a pulled-back view. The camera UI is stripped back and simple to use, but with brightness/contrast/temperature sliders if you want to manually tweak the output. The Pixel 6a also serves up a small number of bonus modes including portrait and night sight.

Video can be captured at 4K resolution at 30FPS or 60FPS. Again, the results are generally good, with smooth stabilisation and respectable audio capture even in noisy surroundings.

Have a gander at my unboxing of the Pixel 6a for an in-depth tour including gaming tests and more. Full review is inbound, but let me know what you think so far below.
