With the new driving mode switch Mi-Drive (Mazda intelligent Drive Select; for petrol engines with automatic and i-Activ all-wheel drive), the driving behavior of the Mazda CX-5 2022 can be adapted to personal preferences and current conditions.

The Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture is also finding its way into the SUV bestseller, which is responsible for around a third of all Mazda sales worldwide. With targeted further development of the body, wheel suspension and seats, it increases passenger comfort and contributes to fatigue-free driving. The significantly reduced road noise also increases comfort, especially on rough surfaces such as gravel.

The new top equipment line Sports-Line Plus emphasizes the dynamic shapes of the Kodo design with its wheel arches, side skirts and bumper bottom parts painted in the vehicle colour. The high-quality look of the vehicle is underlined by the shiny 19-inch silver alloy wheels. The interior is characterized by soft nappa leather and high-quality real wood inlays.

The new Mazda CX-5 special model Newground for practically oriented customers has a silver optical underbody protection at the front and rear, silver side skirts, black painted exterior mirrors, green accents on the radiator grille and silver-black polished 19-inch alloy wheels. In the interior there are suede upholstery with light green stitching; the accents on the air vents are also in this colour. In addition, the boot floor can be turned here and thus has a washable coating in addition to a carpet surface.

The sporty special model Homura is characterized by the CX-5 2022 with a glossy black finish on the radiator grille, wing motif, lower bumper parts, wheel arches, side skirts and exterior mirrors. The taut, athletic look of the vehicle is complemented by 19-inch alloy wheels with a black metallic finish. Red accents can be found on the radiator grille; the seams on the black leather seats and on the steering wheel, shift lever and door panels are also red.

The Skyactiv-G petrol engines meet the strict requirements of the Euro 6d emission standard without an additional petrol particle filter and combine their lively power development with high efficiency. A cylinder deactivation also contributes to this, which, in addition to the 2.5-liter top engine Skyactiv-G 194 with 143 kW/194 hp, also works in the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G 165 in combination with a manual gearbox. In this way, further fuel savings can be achieved, particularly at low engine loads.

The top petrol engine Skyactiv-G 194 with Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission, which is available with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, impresses with a consumption of 7.4-7.1 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions of 169- 161 g/km (according to NEDC). Also available with front and all-wheel drive is the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G with an output of 121 kW/165 hp and 213 Nm of torque (NEDC consumption 7.0-5.8 l/100 km; CO₂: 159-133 g / km). In conjunction with all-wheel drive, the six-speed automatic Skyactiv-Drive is available as an option to the standard Skyactiv-MT six-speed manual transmission.

Mazda also offers the CX-5 2022 with two power levels of the 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D with bi-tubo charging as a drive source that is still interesting for frequent drivers or for towing a trailer. The cultivated and high-revving four-cylinder diesel engine has an SCR system to effectively reduce nitrogen oxide emissions and meets the Euro 6d emissions standard. The top diesel Skyactiv D 184 with an output of 135 kW/184 hp is available either as a front-wheel drive with six-speed manual transmission (NEDC consumption 4.9 l/100 km; CO₂: 128 g/km) or with i-Activ AWD and six-speed Automatic Skyactiv-Drive (NEDC consumption 5.5 l/100 km; CO₂: 145 g/km) available.
