The TCL 20 Pro 5G will cost £499 or 549 Euros when it goes on sale in the UK/Europe. Is it among the best mid-range smartphones of 2021?

Well, there are some limitations. While this mobile sports a punchy AMOLED screen with TCL's AI upscaling from SDR to HDR, you don't get the smooth fast refresh of some rivals. You've got a 48MP primary camera with Sony sensor that's not as reliable as the Pixel alternative, but it's still perfectly good for everyday photos and 4K home movies. Meanwhile the Snapdragon 750G chipset can blaze through games like PubG and Call of Duty.

That £499 asking price is more than some rivals such as the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Poco F3, which also offer strong specs - check out my other reviews for a closer look.
