One in 5 marriages in Singapore now is an interracial one. The prevalence of these unions reflects the success of racial harmony and integration in our society.

But lately, episodes of racially charged outbursts against interracial couples have surfaced. They are symptomatic of underlying prejudices that run counter to the spirit of multiculturalism, religious tolerance, and racial harmony.

Interracial couples may face objections and more challenges coming together but successes of love crossing racial, cultural and language boundaries are aplenty in Singapore.

In this episode, we meet some of them - Malay and Chinese, Chinese and Indian, Chinese and Caucasian, and Malay and Japanese couples etc. These couples, including Singapore’s former national sprinter, C. Kunalan, and former CEO of HDB, Dr. Liu Thai Ker, share their stories from meeting to falling in love, to meeting the parents and asking for their blessings to get married. How did they overcome challenges along the way?
