It is so nice to be able to go out into the forests and be totally alone, the silence here is the thing I appreciate the most.
Now with summer I harvest more and more wild foods, this time the fireweed which I make into asparagus. Also I have planted my vegetables in my raised bed. Such an exiting new step.

The fireweed recipe:
Young fire weeds
750 ml vinegar, half white wine vinegar, half apple cider vinegar
750 ml water
2 spoons of salt approx 5 ml
4 spoons herbs - recipe underneath this one, about 15 ml
1 spoon of chiliflakes or fresh red pepper in rings
3 garlic buds about one per pot
lemon slices, about one per pot

lay the lemon slice on the bottom of the jar, put the fire weed in the pot cut to the right size of the jar.
push the garlic bud in the middle.
boil the vinegar with the water and herbs and att this to the jar until the fireweed is about 1,5 cm underneath the vinegar.
let stand for at least 24 hours before eating

Herbal mixture

14 black pepper
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon of fennelseeds
1 teaspoon of dill seeds
1 teaspoon of cloves
1 teaspoon of juniper berries
4 bay leafs
small piece of cinnamon stick
