Chatkhara Daal with Achari Hari Mirch
Ingredients for Chatkhara Daal:
Onion (chopped) 1 cup
Oil 3-4 tbsp
Garlic (Chopped) 21tbsp
Tomatoes (chopped) 1 cup
Yellow lentil (mung daal) 2 cups
Red lentil (masoor daal) 2 cups
Red chili powder 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
Coriander powder 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp / to taste
Cumin powder 1 tbsp
Shan Chaat Masala 2 tbsp
Water 1/4 cup + 4 cups
Ingredients for Tarka:
Oil 1/4 cup
Garlic (chopped) 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds 1 tbsp
Red Button chilies (dried) 7-8
Curry leaf 1
Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
Green chilies (chopped) 4-5
Ingredients for Achari Mirch:
Tamarind pulp 1 cup
Coriander seeds (Crushed) 3 tbsp
Cumin seeds (crushed) 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tbsp
Shan Chaat Masala 2 tbsp
Green chilies as required
Oil 1/2 cup
Directions for Chatkara Daal Preparation:
1. In a pot heat oil and add onion, cook for a minute. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
2. Add tomatoes and cook until they are soft. Now add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt, Shan Chaat Masala and mix well. Add 1/4 cup water and cook until oil separates.
3. Add soaked red and yellow lentil and mix well. add water and cook until starts to boil. Now cover and cook over medium flame until daal gets tender.
4. In another pan heat oil and add garlic. Cook for a minute. Add red button chilies, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaf, green chilies and cook for 1-2 minutes.
5. Now add garam masala and cook for a minute.
6. Pour the prepared tarka over chatkhara daal and mix well.your Chatkhara Daal is ready.
Directions for Achari Mirch Preparation:
7. In a bowl add tamarind pulp, crushed coriander seeds, crushed cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, shan chaat masala and mix well.
8. Take green chilies and deseeds them. Fill them with prepared Achari masala.
9. Fry them for 1-2 minutes or low medium flame.
10. Your Achari Mirch is ready. Serve with Chatkhara Daal and enjoy.

Cooking time: 40-45 mins
