Depression Era Cooking 🧇 1931 KC Waffles Recipe This is an easy waffle recipe from a depression era cookbook. This baking powder waffle recipe is as easy to make as that stuff from the box... but better.

Ingredients:
3 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
4 eggs separated
2 cups thin cream or rich milk
¼ lb melted butter


Method:
Sift dry ingredients together three times; beat the yolk of eggs; add the butter and milk and stir into the dry ingredients.
Beat the egg whites dry.
Add the whites of eggs.
Bake on a hot well buttered waffle iron.

welcome friends welcome back to the kitchen and Sunday morning in the old cookbook show today we're going to do a recipe out of the cooks book put out by the KC baking powder company in 1931 based in Chicago now this is an absolutely gorgeous cookbook to me it is kind of a height of advertising cookbooks the pictures are incredible the paintings actually because they are in full color absolutely beautiful if anyone has ever held in their hand an early J Peterman catalog from the late 1980s early 1990s I can see where J Peterman got his ideas k_fe preppy kitchen
