My McLaren 675LT Spider at the Nürburgring, it needed this! I've been excitedly looking forward to getting it back to the Green Hell and joining the Nürburgring Driving Academy training has been the perfect opportunity to push the pedal to the metal. Join me for a Touristenfahrten outing to see what the 675LT is made of!

Having attended the Nürburgring Driving Academy's Sports Driver Training Nordschleife XL, I've really had the opportunity to learn significantly more about the Green Hell. The program included a track walk to take in the elevation changes, undulations and discover more about the wet and dry line, especially feeling the tarmac changes. It then followed with a full day featuring lead-follow laps to really get comfortable with more of the brake points, turning in marks, apexes and generally hone in on some of the more challenging sections. You can find out more about the Driving Academy and available courses here: https://www.nuerburgring.de/en..../drives-fun/drives/d

As a result, it's time to get back out onto the Green Hell with some more experience under my belt, in the car I last drove around the Nordschleife prior to this trip for one single lap 3 years ago, my 7th ever lap, having now driven 89 in total. With it being an evening Touristenfahrten session, it's a public toll road with normal road rules applying.

There's no doubt the 675LT is an epic machine, and one I feel so incredible comfortable to drive hard. Having covered approximately 50,000 miles (80,000km) between the P11-chassis McLarens I've owned, there's no other car that speaks more to me, especially in this type of environment, and even more so fresh after significant training on this famous piece of tarmac.

With the experience building and getting much more of a feel for it, the laps during the free sessions during the trackday were sub 7 and a half, but of course it is not legal or permitted to time laps during Touristenfahrten, and nor would it be logical considering the yellow flag sections. I will definitely endeavour to take part in more trackdays to really further my experience from here, and at every level there is always more training to be done to learn it even more.
