The world was unprepared to face a pandemic. This experience has taught us to be ready for a situation worse than it. The situation caused revolutionary changes in many sectors. One of the benefitted sectors is education. We achieved digital literacy to a great extent. Personal hygiene of people also has improved. These things would not happen that easily in the pre-pandemic situation. We want to communicate that there are opportunities even in so-called hopeless situations. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by SSVM Institutions. Shreeya, a Grade-11 student of SSVM World School, is a Digital Storyteller who creates impactful stories for children with special needs. She volunteered virtually during the pandemic to support children in the literacy programme. Shreeya is also an environmental enthusiast and works at the grassroots level to raise awareness about sustainability. Her article on ‘Lake preservation’ was published in ‘The Hindu In School’.
