I have been thinking about making this Ambrosia Maple Table for a while now and the biggest question was how I was going to make the huge box joints on such heavy pieces with the tools I have. I am not good enough with my hand tools, so I decided I would have to use my power tools. I have seen box joint jigs for the table saw, but the pieces were too large and heavy. So decided router was my best bet. But all I have is a small trim router.... In the end it worked out pretty well. BUT it did not feel safe. This type of work requires a bigger router that has more power and more control. Hopefully I will get the full build video up soon.
