ARE WE TOO FOCUSED ON 'WHAT' WE EAT? Instead Of Why, When, How And Where | Dr. Rangan Chat
When it comes to our health and losing excess weight, we can start to become hyper focused on the foods we’re eating. Of course, the foods we eat are - or the foods we choose not to eat - are super important but health is never about just one thing.
I think we can learn a lot from the French and their culture around food.
Our bodies just aren’t designed to digest our meals when we’re stressed out, when we’re answering emails, when we’ve been rushing from one thing to the next all morning.
When it comes to HOW we eat, I always ask my patients to prepare for a meal, just like an athlete would prepare for a race - mentally and physically. And using many of the rituals we would have done before meals 20 or 30 years ago, gratitude, breath-work and coming together to eat instead of eating alone.
If you’re interested in learning a bit more about this, please do check out my new book Feel Great, Lose Weight, which is available to pre-order now.
(And, please note, this book is NOT just for people who are trying to lose excess weight. It is for anyone who wants to improve their health and have a better relationship with food.)
