How to Cook Mechadong Baka (Beef Mechado)
Mechadong Baka is also Known as Beef Mechado. It is a Filipino beef stew dish that looks similar to kaldereta and afritada. So, what makes this dish different? I think that the addiiton of lemon or calamansi made it a bit different from the others.
This is a quick version on how to cook mechado because I used a pressure cooker. It only took me 20 minutes to make the beef tender and an additional 15 minutes more to complete the entire dish.
I love my mechado with warm white rice and I like to put more sauce on top of the rice.

Here are the ingredients for this Mechadong Baka Recipe:
1 1/2 lb. beef chuck, cubed
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 large baking potato, cubed
1 lareg red bell pepper, cut into squares
4 pieces dried bay leaves
1 medium ripe tomato, cube
1 medium red onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
4 tablespoons soy sauce
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1/2 lemon
3 tablespoons cooking oil
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
