If you suffer from knee pain due to arthritis, overuse, age or injury, here are strengthening movements and stretches to help ease the pain and give you some relief.

You will need a chair or a stable device to hold on to for the first standing section of this video. In the standing section we will work on strengthening the muscles that surround and support the knee. We will perform calf raises, front leg lifts working the quadriceps and side leg lifts activating the hip abductors.
We then move to the floor for a few more exercises for the muscles surrounding the knee. Finally, you will need a strap to help you in the stretching section. It is important to stretch the muscles and ligaments that support the knee. All of these exercises work together to stabilize the knee joint.
Even if you only have pain in one knee, definitely still perform these exercises on both side to stay balanced.
I recommend these exercises at least three times a week for pain relief. You can also just choose to perform some of the exercises if you are short on time.
Make sure your joints are nice and warm before performing these movements. Cold temperatures can often exacerbate joint pain and inflammation.
Enjoy, and thanks for working out with me!
