As food-producing economies start to safeguard what they have for their own consumption, countries that rely on food imports are facing potential shortages. In this climate of rising food inflation and insecurity, should governments be putting their domestic interests first, or - as international criticism implies - be keeping trade free so the rest of the world is fed as well?
