There are so many MIYA HIMI jelly gouache palettes out there! What ones should you choose? They all have so much more paint than regular tubes so they take a while to use up. Let's look over a few of them today yo help you decide! See availabe palettes here: https://amzn.to/3MqUJgu

Overall the paint feels very much the same between these paints, I'm not sure if it is due to color selection (broader colors and more pastels in the larger MIYA sets) but the MAYA paint seem a bit more opaque compared to the HIMI. It makes me wonder if the MIYA might be a higher grade paint than the HIMI but I am only speculating, they are very similar and from the same company (think winsor & Newton professional watercolor vs cotman) but they are similar enough that they might be the same paint under differnt trade names (think White knights and Yarka) in any event, they are either the same or the MIYA is a touch better. The color selection makes it hard to tell.

The newest MIYA set is the 50 color set that features 14 60ml cups or gouache and 36 30ml cups. https://amzn.to/36TjAus
Pros:
*Foil easily comes off the cups
*Lots of Paint
*Paint is smooth and opaque with good pigment load
*Price
*You can reactivate paint dry ona palette so no waste
*Foam sheet on lid keeps the paint fresher than the smaller sets that have a palette included.

Cons:
*Size, it might be hard to find space for this on your table while working and you will need an additional palette
*Consistant problems with the MIYA/HIMI palettes lids latching securely. Every one of my Miya and himi palettes have this issue.
*Paint can dry out more quckly due to the lid issue so you should mist with water/alcohol spray after using to prevent drying. Even hard paint can be reconstituted tho but it can be a tedious process.

Bottom line: I think these paints are good for the price. The large set contains a lot of convieneince colors that are easily mixed from basic colors so if you are not using massive amounts of paint and can mix colors you are better off with a smaller set. The big sets take up a lot of room, it's bigger in real life LOL!
