Let's compare the jelly gouache set's I've tried!
First, let me say that there really isn't any difference in the quality of paint between tubes and jelly cup gouache. You should choose the style of gouache that will be most convenient for you. Full disclosure: These paints were sent to me for review purposes, affiliate links used.

The first palette was made from tube paints by Arteza and a tackle box from harbor freight. If you want to make your own palette make sure to use hot glue to glue in the dividers and seal the sections off from one another so the paints can't leak. You might be able to find solid boxes as well. Arteza gouache are sold in sets of 24 and 60: https://amzn.to/2H1ftPn if you go with the 60 set I would recommend keeping them in tubes and just squirting out what you need as you go,

Himi 18 set: https://amzn.to/3lxLIVs this is the oldest version and is a solid choice. I like how it has 2 white pots of paint. 4 colors available for the palette.

Arrtx 18 set: https://amzn.to/3lxLIVs This set features a different set of muted colors but the quality seems to be the same as the Miya and Himi gouache.

Himi 24 set: https://amzn.to/2H1fOl7 I really like the white palette and the included brushes with space to hold more.

***My Fave***Artsy 24 set: https://amzn.to/33RlLdJ The paint is very opaque, easy to use and creamy, I like the size as well however the jelly cups are a different shape and are not interchangeable with the other sets I reviewed.

Miya 56 set: https://amzn.to/3lC73gy *I like the paint but the handles are not reliable and I find it difficult to latch all 4 sides closed.

All of these are good, pick what works best for you!
